Father's Day Cutting Directions
The cutting will be held at Teddy Archuleta's arena south of Alamosa 5 miles on Hwy 285 at Co Rd 12.  The arena is on the west side of the highway.  Stalls will be available for $25 and pens for $15.  Call Brett or Smiley Shawcroft at 719.274.5294 to make arrangements.

  1.  Congratulations to Brett Shawcroft who is our new President and J.R. Stansell who is
       our new Vice-President.

  2.  $10,000 NonPro is changed  to $10,000 Amateur

  3.  Fees are raised to $60 for Open and $45 for other classes and practices.  The increase
       will go towards cattle and office expenses.

  4.  First half of the year schedule is set.  Review on our new calendar and events page.
       Details about start times coming soon.

  5.  Cut-off number for cancellation of events is 12 for practice and 20 for jackpots.

We finished 2008 in fairly good shape as far as participation and finances goes - especially considering fuel prices.  Enthusiasm and support remained high.

The two jackpots in the San Luis Valley were a great addition to our schedule.  Local support with prizes and added money (as well everything else that goes into putting on a cutting) was amazing.  A big thank you to everyone involved.

We had over $400 donated toward awards this year.  We certainly thank all who dontated.

As always we had much help throughout the year wit the cattle, setting up the arena, announcing, timing, etc.  The most visible were Trudy and Kenny Jensen, Mary Teff, Wayne Survant - but there were many others.  We thank everyone for being an active part of S.C.C.H.A.

Joyce Autry and Mary Teff looked after the 4th of July Banquet and the Awards Banquet - with help from many others who brought side dishes.  Both events make for a great social time for us.

Pete Clark and J.R. Stansell were elected to fill the two vacancies on the Board of Directors.
